T’Arts – Mother’s Day Fundraising

This year T’Arts (the textile and art collective in Gays Arcade, Adelaide), are raising funds for the McGrath Foundation.

I have donated 9 pairs of flat glass studs for this worthy cause.

Each pair of studs will be priced at $10.  And ALL of the money raised will be donated to the charity.

Lots of the artists have put together all sorts of pieces of art for this event.  The work will be available for sale from  Monday May 2.  Everything is priced at either $10 or $15.  Bargains!

Colour Play

I hope you are enjoying the “Shades of Grey” Colour Play for April.

Today is the final instalment in the series.  You can find the first instalment here.  And the second instalment here.

The final necklaces were made with a beautiful contrasting colour – yellow.  I love putting yellow with grey, and I love the shape and style of the beads in this necklace.  I also love the simplicity of these necklaces, along with the ease of wearing them.  Oh, I guess I saved the best for last!

On my walk this morning…

Things have been out of routine around here for over a week now. The kids are on school holidays, and my husband is away. Thankfully this morning I got to go for a walk (thanks to my lovely mum for being here for a few days)!

Colour Play

Now, for the second instalment in the Grey Colour Play for April.  In case you missed it, the first instalment was here!

So, after testing the 3 shades of grey on that style of necklace, I thought I would add a little bit more contrast with black and white.  I liked the idea of adding black and white, because as you might have already guessed….black plus white equals GREY!

I like the fine silver wire, it gives the beads some elegance, and the necklace is really nice to wear.  I prefer the etched version, but that’s my personal taste.

So, without further ado…here are the photos for this week:

Colour Play

This month I have decided to make grey the feature colour!!

I am really drawn to grey at the moment, now that winter is getting closer.  I still find myself wearing a lot of black in the winter, so grey works perfectly with that.  Grey looks lovely with white too.

This first instalment is three shades of grey!  I used a light, medium and dark grey to make these beads, and then I etched them to take the shine off.  I thought I might have ended up with a bit more contrast, but I still like the result.  Quite elegant.

On my walk this morning…

My husband is heading overseas for 3 weeks at the end of this week, so we’ve been spending a lot of quality time together as a family.  So nice.  Honestly, that is what it’s all about really, isn’t it?

On my walk this morning…

Oh boy, it’s been one of those weeks or so that has not gone according to plan.  You know the weeks where you start out thinking you can do EVERYTHING?!

Yeah, and then you get sick, then your daughter gets sick, your son gets sick, and then your husband is sick.  Yep, one of those weeks.

Let’s just say that things are slightly delayed around here!  I’m still working on beads for Colour Play, and that will launch next week.  Thanks for understanding.  Stay tuned.
