I found some more silver and gold beads in my collection and was inspired to make this necklace featuring beads made from gin and beer bottles.
I was also inspired by a recent conversation with my daughter where I was trying to explain to her what “contrast” meant.
I love combining blue and green recycled glass beads. The colours always look so pretty together. The beads in the necklace were made from wine, gin and vodka bottles. The earrings are from a wine bottle.

I have had this red glass plate for so many years I forget the origin now. I have always been reluctant to break it because usually when I melt red glass objects…the colour disappears. Well it was a pleasant surprise to see the colour that was left in these beads today! Not as red as the original, but sill really pretty. I’m looking forward to making more beads in different shapes and styles.
I think I am just going to blame the heat for not posting this yesterday! Add school holidays and a big post-Xmas order to the mix and it has been tricky to get everything done. Anyway I was thrilled to put these beads together this morning. Such a pretty bracelet featuring wine, champagne and gin bottles, and other various glass objects.
It was a delight to make this necklace today! I had so much fun searching through my brown and green recycled glass beads. There are all sorts of beads in this necklace including beads made from gin, beer, wine champagne and a glass cup!

Inspired by Monday. Today’s earrings are inspired by my absolute love of mixing gold and silver jewellery together. I wear all sorts of gold and silver rings, and gold and silver bracelets. Sometimes a pair of earrings matched with a bracelet is all you need to wear. These earrings were made from a Bethany Wines bottle. The bracelet features some additional gin and beer bottle beads.
Making beads from recycled glass can be tricky. I need to warm the glass up first to limit the shattering of the glass when it hits the flame. I use these crazy tweezers to pick up the warm glass. They are all bent out of shape from being heated, but they still do the job.
