Day 234. I have had quite a lovely day. I drove to Strathalbyn for a radio interview with Happy FM. It was nice to talk about my art and it was also wonderful to see all sorts of pieces from my SALA exhibition have already sold. While I was at the gallery a lady was looking at my work because she had seen it advertised in SA Life magazine! All of these amazing opportunities thanks to @salafestival and @stationmaster5255gallery. I am incredibly grateful for the support and opportunity to showcase this new range of work. Today’s earrings are inspired by some comments about my work and how beautiful blue and green look together.
Month: August 2020
Favourite jewellery of 2020
Day 233. These might just be my favourite pieces of jewellery this year! Very rich colours, love the styles of beads used in the necklace and bracelet, and the earrings are simple but extremely colourful.
Bold transparent yellow earrings
Day 232. Transparent yellow glass is kind of rocking my world at the moment. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out, I haven’t ever really used it before, but I love how bold it is in these earrings.
Colourful transparent earrings
Day 231. These earrings! The colours are stunning. And because I have used transparent glass to make them, when the light hits them they are even more stunning.
Layered Earrings
Day 230. A slightly restyled earring from the other day, adding a jump ring for the beads to sit on, adding another bead in between the short and long beads. Similar to yesterday, but still different. I like taking these ideas and seeing where they go.
Green Speckled Earrings
Day 229. Ah, this is more like it. I still have an idea smouldering from yesterday, but this style really appealed to me today. I have ended up wearing them because they go perfectly with my favourite dark green speckled with colour jumper! I rarely keep my own jewellery, but this pair is just lovely and fun to wear.
Coral and Green Earrings
Day 228. Love the colours in these beads. The earrings were an idea that popped into my head while I was walking this morning, but I don’t think they quite turned out how I had imagined them. Still…worth a try. It has given me another idea for tomorrow.
Making every day…
Day 227. Thanks for all the love for the Ciara collection. I always find it interesting to see what happens after an exhibition is installed. It’s like I have so many ideas forming from that intense period, and then all of a sudden a huge amount of freedom to be even more creative. I have a lot of new ideas to work through and that feels great, especially after 227 days of making earrings. I am still excited about the challenge and looking forward to exploring these new ideas further.
More earrings inspired by my daughter Ciara
Day 226. I have a few beads leftover for more earrings! These were the original colours that Ciara loved, and I also really like them all together.
The Ciara Collection
Day 225. The Ciara collection 💐 Inspired by the clothes my daughter was wearing the other day (olive and green), I also asked her to pick some other colours so I could make a necklace and bracelet too. I love how these have come together, and I really like the mismatched earrings!
