Layers Exhibition at T’Arts Collective

I have just finished making all the jewellery for my window exhibition at @tartscollective and now I can’t wait to set up alongside @katgruberart paintings! We have chosen “layers” as our theme, with similar colours running through our work to make a cohesive display. I have been so inspired by the theme and colours! I had so many ideas that I didn’t end up using too, which is always a bonus of doing something like this. Hope you get a chance to visit.

New necklaces

I had a lovely day at @tartscollective yesterday. I even made several new necklaces. It was nice talking about my beads with so many people who were new to the shop. Next month we celebrate 20 years of being a collective! I have been there for 17 years. Still can’t get my head around that! Time definitely flies.

Work in progress

Work in progress today…a top-up of bracelets for T’Arts. It’s a sunny day in Adelaide and I am working in the shop. In between serving customers I am making some new jewellery. Lots of lovely tourists wandering through.

My exhibition at T’Arts Collective

This has been a long time in the making, but I am excited to let you all know that I will be having an exhibition at @tartscollective with @katgruberart starting February 27! I have known Kat for many years, and have loved how her style of painting has evolved over time. We quickly agreed on “layers” as our theme and I love how we have used similar colours, in completely different ways. Our process of making art is so different, and I love how Kat uses layers in her paintings, it draws you in to look closer. This is my first piece of jewellery for the collection. I finally have enough beads made, and I am excited for the next part of my process…making jewellery! Hope that you can all make it to Adelaide to see our work displayed together. It’s there until March 25.

Making murrini beads

The collection is growing. I never really know how many beads I am going to need for an exhibition, I only know that I like to have lots made because that means lots to choose from when making the jewellery. I made another murrini cane last night which I will test over the weekend. Can’t wait to see this all come together…it always does, but at the moment it feels a long way off!
