Day 58 – Asymmetrical recycled glass necklace

Recycled glass necklace | recycled glass beads made from assorted glass like wine, gin and vodka bottles.

If you are looking for a traditional symmetrical necklace, then this necklace is not for you! However, if you are looking for a necklace that is a little bit different and incorporates an assortment of recycled glass beads, then maybe, just possibly this one is for you! Either way, I am quite enchanted with this… Read More

Day 57 – Recycled glass earrings

Recycled glass earrings | made from a wine bottle, inspired by the ocean.

I may be slightly obsessed about the ocean at the moment! It’s kind of hot where I live right now. We will definitely be going to the pool this afternoon. The beads in these earrings were made from wine bottles.

Day 56 – Inspired by Monday

Recycled glass earrings | beads made from a Banrock Station wine bottle

It’s a student free day at my children’s school so we have escaped to the beach! Today’s earrings, made from a Banrock Station wine bottle, suit the day perfectly.

Day 55 – Sunday sets with a few earrings options

Recycled glass jewellery | fresh green earrings and bracelet made from a wine bottle

It’s nice to have a few options when it comes to choosing earrings. Th beads have all been made from a wine bottle. Loving the green today. So fresh and crisp. Sending a big happy birthday to my beautiful daughter Ciara. 10 years old today! It has been quite an amazing decade with you in… Read More

Day 54 – Behind the Scenes Saturday

Recycled glass beads | you really need a kiln to make glass beads properly!

I love my kiln. It’s where all the behind the scenes things take place like stabilising and strengthening the bead through a process known as “annealing”. Beads that don’t go through this process in an actual kiln are more likely to break, so it’s worth investing in. Beads anneal at 510 C so it can… Read More

Day 53 – Green glass bottle earrings

Recycled glass earrings | beads made from a sand-blasted green bottle

I was curious to see what would happen when I melted this green bottle. I love how it changed from sand-blasted to shiny after being in the flame, and I also love the colour!

Day 52 – Recycled glass bracelet

Recycled glass bracelet | beads made from a wine bottle and decorated with smashed up glass

Bracelet made from a wine bottle. Same beads as yesterday’s necklace, just finished a little differently. I quite like the extra space between the beads.

Day 51 – Necklace made from a wine bottle

Recycled glass necklace | beads made from a wine bottle

This necklace was made from a wine bottle. There is a subtle variation in the “frit” I have used to decorate the beads, which looks really lovely when it’s worn.
