Day 91. A million years ago…no, not really, more like about 7 years ago…I collected all sorts of tin objects with the idea that I would add tin “bits and pieces” to my recycled glass jewellery, to create something a little bit different. What I realised in the process was….I really love making glass beads, and I didn’t really love doing the tin work! Hey, you gotta try it to know for sure. Anyway, I had some of these tin disks left over from an exhibition, so I thought I might use some here and there. Today I have put these tin disks with the Hendricks Gin Limited Release bead for a truly recycled jewellery piece!

Streaky Green Glass Earrings
Day 90. Ah, glass. I really this streaky Italian glass, and etching just makes it even more dramatic. There are a few different opaque colours that will do this streaky effect, and it can be both lovely, and annoying at times too!
Gin and Tonic Earrings – Hendricks and Fever Tree
Day 89. Gin and tonic earrings. The bottom bead is from a Hendricks Limited Release gin bottle, top bead from a Fever Tree tonic water bottle. Yesterday I tried cucumber in my G&T and it was delicious!! What’s your favourite addition?
Tanqueray and Hendricks Limited Release gin bottle earrings
Day 88. How’s your weekend shaping up? I just finished a live-stream yoga class and it was awesome!! Now I am going to chill out, read some books, do some crocheting, eat some cheese and crackers, and maybe have a gin and tonic later on!! These earrings were from Tanqueray and Hendricks Limited Release gin bottles.
The final pair of red, black and white earrings
Day 87. The final pair of earrings in the red, black and white series! I have used most of the beads that I made the other day. Most of the galleries that sell my work are now officially closed until further notice. My Etsy and Online shops are always open, and you can also message me via Instagram, Facebook or email if you see anything you like.
I made a pair of earring hooks today
Day 86. I made some hooks! I am so pleased with these really long and rounded hooks today! After all of yesterday’s news and still feeling a little flat today, I almost felt like I was cheating making another pair of red, black and white earrings! But, I am glad that I decided to try something new, and really pleased with how they turned out. Can you possibly help me pick three more colours that you think look great together? I will use your inspiration to make some earrings!
Red, black, white mismatched earrings
Day 85. No words today, just a picture of some earrings that I made.
Long red, black and white earrings
Day 84. Often the making is the easy part. Most of the time it’s the design that takes a long time. Putting this bead on, changing it for a different colour, trying something else. When the design feels just right, the actual making happens easily. And yet it’s the design process that really captivates me at the moment.
More red, black and white earrings
Day 83. Continuing my limited palette, I love the spots and stripes in these earrings. While many of the galleries that I sell my work in are choosing to close for the time being, you can always order my work online and I will post it to you. I have an online shop on my website, and I also sell through Etsy. Also happy to still do custom orders. Just in case anyone was still thinking about having a birthday this year 😛
Red, black and white
Day 82. There was a period of time when all I wore were clothes that were either red, black or white. That was it. It made buying clothes really easy, and it made getting dressed each day pretty simple. I can’t remember when I stopped doing that, but slowly my wardrobe has become a lot more colourful. I still love the idea of limiting colour palettes, and yesterday I made a bunch of beads in red, black and white….and I am going to spend the next few days making earrings with these beads. Today’s earrings are mismatched, to match the feeling of the world at the moment. Nothing feels normal. And that’s something we will have to get OK with. For now.
