Dainty Recycled Glass Earrings

Dainty recycled glass earrings

Day 162. Recently I have had several enquires about smaller, daintier earrings. It made me wonder if this was something other people would also like? I have a bunch of these lever-back earrings, and I am planning to make a range of smaller earrings. Let me know if this is something you might like. The beads in this pair of earrings were made from a wine bottle.

A little pop of blue

Long glass earrings

Day 161. A variation on yesterday’s earrings, and a bracelet! I love the shape of these beads, and when they are etched they are so smooth and lovely to wear in a bracelet. The little pop of blue adds to the finished pieces.

Beach inspiration

Beach inspired earrings

Day 160. Yesterday I went to the beach and filled up on fish and chips, fresh sea air, and some colour inspiration. Today when it was time to make a pair of earrings, I decided to try something different by turning the big bead upside down. Yes, just a simple 180 degrees and I feel excited to make earrings again. I needed that little break. A long walk and crashing waves and I feel reenergised. Ready for the next 206 days 🙂

Daily challenges can be challenging

Day 159. At times I find myself slightly disinterested in my daily earring challenge. It’s another thing I have to do every day, and it’s definitely challenging at times! But today I sat down and made these earrings with a different attitude. Today I sat down and just decided to just make a pair of earrings. I had an idea and I was curious to try it out. It didn’t have to be amazing or perfect, and it doesn’t have to be something I ever make again. But...it was good to try something, it was good to make a pair of earrings. I enjoyed the process today.

Earrings just want to have fun

Recycled glass earrings

Day 158. Gosh, these are a whole lot of fun to wear, and now that pubs are starting to open again…we have somewhere to wear beautiful jewellery (LOL)! The beads in this pair of earrings were made from assorted clear recycled glass bottles and have etched, pixie dust and shiny finishes.

Recycled wine bottle earrings

Day 157. Incredibly cold starts to the mornings here in South Australia. These earrings are supposed to look a bit icy! Made from a wine bottle, with three subtly different finishes: pixie dust, clear and etched. I like how they are all a bit different and still from the same bottle.

Day 155. I talk to my children all the time about inclusion and that it’s OK for everyone to be different. When I look at the friends they are making and see children of all kinds of ethnicities playing with them I feel incredibly proud that they are able to see beyond colour, that they can see people. I can only hope that these conversations and beliefs will help to shape a new future for our world.

Fish Earrings

Day 154. I had a request to make some fish earrings recently! I used to make lots and lots of fish earrings and necklaces, and some times I wonder why I stopped. It was nice to get back on the torch and make some more. If you have a request, please feel free to let me know.

Getting ready for a new exhibition

Day 153. One thing I love about getting ready for a new exhibition is looking at what I have done in the past and working out how to make changes to make new things. I have loved making jewellery with enamelled copper tubes, and I think I will be making more soon. Today’s earrings feature beads made from a wine bottle.
