Day 68. Yesterday I made 8 pairs of triangle earrings featuring all sorts of recycled glass beads for my newsletter. These earrings are all available in my online shop. Today I am enjoying a day off by the river. It’s a gorgeous day. Hope you are having fun wherever you are.
Day 67. Always stoked when an idea in my head turns out even better in real life! I had messed around with this idea last year, and never felt like I totally captured what I had in my mind. But today…it worked! Heavier wire, different earrings. And loving the tiny purple Hendricks Gin – Limited Release bead too, tops it all off perfectly.
Day 66. Old ideas, new glass. Make sure you scroll down to see the bottle that these earrings came from!! I love it when people give me their old bottles, and I get a chance to play with new glass. This was a gorgeous glass to use, and a great colour!
Day 65. I added a little silver sparkle in between the beads today. I like how it makes everything pop a little bit more.
Day 64. Sometimes it’s nice to take an idea and try it a few different ways, because I actually love this shape, and I don’t use it often enough in earrings, so I am glad I decided to try adding some frit and I love the little red bead just adding to the pop of colour in these earrings.
Day 63. So following on from yesterday, I thought I would try adding frit to other shapes! I like the contrast in these earrings.
Day 62. I was on the torch yesterday, and I started thinking about beads I used to make that I don’t make any more. And I remembered some beads that looked a bit like this, with the frit, but square in shape, so I decided to make some and here are today’s earrings, inspired by beads I made when I travelled to the USA for a year. That was a LONG time ago!
Day 61. You know when you buy special things, and then you don’t use them because they were quite expensive, and you think you will just save them for a special occasion, and then there aren’t any special occasions…yeah, that’s kind of like these gold earring hooks and wires! I bought them ages ago and haven’t used them…until today! I have put them on a Moet champagne bottle bead that has been coated with gold pixie dust. Special enough? Today it is.
Day 60. Well I guess this is what happens when I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about earrings…I take apart old necklaces and use the beads in slightly, hopefully new ways to get me through this little busy spell. Here’s to spending a bit more time dreaming of earrings soon.
