Having a lovely day at @tartscollective today. I have put lots of new work on display and enjoyed seeing new work from the other artists here too. It’s such a great place to visit and I can’t wait for our first 21st birthday exhibition opening here in a few weeks. Working on some very new pieces of jewellery at the moment.
Just collected my work from an exhibition that closed on the weekend and I now have a bunch of new jewellery heading to @tartscollective on Saturday! Looking forward to my day in the shop.
For a long time I have used frit made and then blended by someone else. But towards the end of last year I was searching for some special blends for some new projects and nothing was quite right. So I stocked up on a rainbow of different frit colours so I could make my own blends. This one is so pretty, I love how the beads turned out.
I am very happy with the test beads I made from a @prohibitionliquor gin bottle. The glass is really clear, very sparkly and it holds the smashed up glass really well too. I don’t think these will end up being the colours I use for the exhibition, so that’s the next thing to work on…getting the colours just right.
Getting ready to make some test beads for the next exhibition I am working on. I was stoked when @prohibitionliquor let me have some of their beautiful gin bottles to repurpose as recycled glass beads. Can’t wait to see what comes out the kiln.
Getting these bird and flower earrings ready to take to @tartscollective early next week. I had so much fun making these beads and it makes me so happy that you all seem to love them too.
I loved the blue and green beads SO much I decided to make the same beads with pinks, purples and reds. Glad I did because these are definitely MY colours at the moment!
Fresh out the kiln! I picked 2 blue and 2 green transparent glass colours and this is what I ended up with. Can’t wait to make some jewellery with these beads, the colours are so rich and perfect for the warmer days ahead!
Blue and green earrings were popular purchases from my collection at @tartscollective, today I am restocking a bunch of earrings. Hopefully also making some new necklaces and bracelets depending on how busy we are.
Spent this morning wandering through the Kandinsky exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW. Definitely filled my creative cup up again. Love how he uses colours and lines in his paintings. Can’t wait to get on the torch again!
