Glass Bead Bracelets

I was getting these bracelets ready for T’Arts when I started thinking about the people who have been asking if I will open my Etsy shop again. The short answer is probably. I have no idea when, but it will be different from before. Anyway, I decided to make these bracelets available on social media before I take them to the shop. They are $75, no extra for postage in Australia. Get in touch if you would like me to post one to you.

Making Necklaces

I had a lot of fun making necklaces at T’Arts on Saturday. It was a hot day, quiet at times, making it perfect to get a little creative in between customers. I love the grey necklace board that I got the other day, really helpful for laying out beads.

In my happy place

In my happy place today, quietly restocking earrings for my display at T’Arts. Feeling very grateful for having a beautiful place to sell my jewellery. Lots of sale table items have sold, but still a few bargains there 🙃

Murrini Beads

I used the murrini from the other day to make some test beads. Some of them turned out OK. I am looking forward to taking my learning from all of this and making some more canes and beads!

Making Murrini

I made some murrini! I can’t remember the last time I pulled a cane like this, but gosh, what fun! It ended up being about 65cm long with lots of learning along the way! I am so excited to use these on beads tomorrow and see how they turn out. Then the fun begins as I test all sorts of colour combinations and make more canes. It’s nice to have time to try new things as I work towards an exhibition opportunity which is rapidly approaching.

2022

And that’s a wrap! Thank you 2022! This year I focused on making beads and jewellery for @tartscollective and @bethanywines_barossa, I made 1000 beads with red glass for my @salafestival exhibition, I experimented with making beads from recycled glass and using some new techniques like enamel AND I turned 50!! Thank you to everyone who visited an exhibition or gallery and bought any of my work this year, your support means I get to do this all again next year and I am looking forward to another creative year. I have a few ideas floating around and hopefully a few surprises too. Enjoy this final day of the year and see you all next year.

50 bead necklace

The finished necklace with 50 beads made from the bottle of wine my brother gave me for my 50th birthday! Plus a pair of earrings to match. Thanks little brother. Wishing you all a happy festive season. My family are here now and it’s time to make the dip for Christmas Eve drinks.
