Wine bottle beads

The test beads worked! The glass from the wine bottle is really clear and picks up lots of reflections from whatever is near it. I started thinking I would keep all the beads in the necklace plain, but as I was cleaning them a couple of thoughts snuck in…what if you added some silver pixie dust? What if you added some silver foil? What if you add some silver wire? And what if you did the same with gold? Back to the torch and I am so glad I added some extra sparkly beads to the collection. I have made way more than 50 beads, so now it’s time to narrow it down and make the necklace. I have quite a few ideas to work through to create the perfect necklace for me!

Birthday keepsake preparations

Cleaned and smashed! Ready to make beads. I am hoping the test beads will be successful and then I will start making 50 beads for my special birthday necklace. My little brother gave me some wine, and I will remember the occasion with a necklace made from the bottle. So much better than chucking it in the recycle bin.

Turning my birthday present into a keepsake

I recently celebrated a milestone birthday and my little brother gave me some sparkling white wine for my celebration! I enjoyed one of the bottles already and it made me think about turning one of the empty bottles into a necklace with 50 beads as a memento of the occasion. Stay tuned, time to clean and break the bottle!
