Our third creative challenge was inspired at first by Frida Kahlo, and slowly shifted towards Mexican Folk Art. I looked at lots of images, and the bird motif kept popping up which led me to make brightly coloured bird beads! Margie also used birds in one of her paintings.

Our second creative challenge was “Native Flora, Our Way” and I had to have a bit of a think about this one, because I have often used flowers and floral beads in my jewellery, but this time I wanted to do something a bit different, so I opted for a more abstract flower look, and added lots of colourful seed beads into some of the necklaces! I really love how this collection came together and have lots of images to share. Keep swiping to see @tangerinemeg paintings that were inspired by native flowers. Or just come to @tartscollective on Saturday (tomorrow) and see it for yourself because I will be there!

Wow! Thank you for all the lovely feedback on our window display at @tartscollective. Thank you to the people who have already had a chance to visit. It’s so nice to hear how everyone is enjoying the collaboration. Margie and I set 3 creative challenges for this exhibition. The first was to use Kandinsky’s Concentric Circles in Squares painting as inspiration. I made a very colourful collection of jewellery, while @tangerinemeg painted some magnificent cats! It’s worth visiting just to see the detail in the painting on the top left of the first image.

We did it! Our window exhibition is all set up at @tartscollective in Gays Arcade. I am so grateful to @tangerinemeg for suggesting an exhibition together. I think our work looks fabulous all together, so colourful and bright! I hope you get a chance to pop in and see it before it bumps out. Last day to visit is June 26.

So my exhibition looks a bit like this at the moment! But by this time tomorrow it will be all set up at @tartscollective alongside the beautiful art of @tangerinemeg. Today I am photographing and putting labels and prices on each piece. You can visit T’Arts Monday to Saturday from 10am until 5pm and my next shift in the shop is Saturday June 5 so I might even see you there.

Colourful dotty bead bracelets heading to @tartscollectivefor my window exhibition with @tangerinemeg ! We set three creative challenges, and while I found some easier than others, I really like all of the jewellery I have made for the exhibition. These bracelets will be part of the Mexican Folk Art challenge, along with the bird earrings and necklaces.

And a couple of necklaces featuring colourful bird and dotty beads. So many pretty colours in a necklace that will brighten even the greyest of days (like today)!

I have been having a lot of fun making all sorts of colourful earrings for my window exhibition at @tartscollective. They are inspired by Mexican Folk Art.

One of the creative challenges we set for our exhibition was “Mexican Folk Art” which is very colourful and incorporates beautiful motifs like flowers and birds. I chose to focus on birds. This pair of earrings features the test beads I made to see if my idea would work or not. I used clear glass for these birds, added some smashed up glass for colour, and then added colourful wings. Wait til you see all the other colourful pieces I have made with bird beads! Exhibition with @tangerinemeg is on for most of June at @tartscollective in Adelaide.
