Have you guessed who I am exhibiting with at @tartscollective in June? My newsletter is going out today with all of the news, and a sneak peak of our work (and an early chance to buy some of it too)!

Wishing I could say “abracadabra” and all of these beads would magically turn themselves into beautiful pieces of jewellery! With less than 2 weeks to go until I set up for my exhibition at @tartscollective, I am feeling like I need something magic to happen to get it all done! Breathe in 🧚

Sharing some of the inspiration and the start of some finished earrings for my upcoming window display/exhibition at @tartscollective. It’s easy to be inspired by the native flora in my local area, with little splashes of colour popping up in lots of the trees that I see on my daily walk. A beautiful mix of greens, pinks, yellows, browns. I wanted to use that mix of colours in the jewellery I am making, with little splashes of colour in the beads.

Colourful little leaf beads coming together in earrings! So many pretty colours in these earrings. Hmm, they might even end up as my new favourite earrings.

I have lots of different frit collections (smashed up bits of glass) in a range of colours. So for this exhibition I took spoonfuls from all of the collections, and made a special mix! Then I made these super cute leaf beads.

My artist friend and I have had a lot of fun coming up with the creative challenges for our exhibition at @tartscollective. She has sent her work off to be framed! And I am still making beads and jewellery! It’s funny how ideas spark ideas, and it’s hard to know when to stop! I can’t wait to share some of our work with you.

It all starts with laying out the beads in some kind of order, so I can begin pairing earrings! Let the fun begin…

Another collection of beads is starting to form! I never really know how many beads I am going to need to make for an exhibition, so I usually end up making lots! I still have some more beads to make for this mix…and then I will start making jewellery! Can’t wait.

I am really looking forward to exhibiting with a favourite artist friend of mine at @tartscollective in June! We have set ourselves several creative challenges, and I am making beads like crazy to try and get ready for it. Responding to Kandinsky’s concentric circles in squares is our first challenge, and you may have seen the video collection of beads I have made yesterday? I can’t wait to see our work together! Anyway, I shall introduce you to this person soon, when it gets a bit closer to opening. In the meantime, this is a photo of us when we met up in person a few weeks ago!
