Today’s earrings would actually look rather fine with yesterday’s long necklace. Beads made from a Banrock Station wine bottle with enamelled copper tubes.

Day 63 – Purple and green recycled glass bead necklace
Inspired by Monday. Today as I wandered through various social media feeds I was reminded that on Friday it is International Women’s Day. I feel so lucky to have been brought up believing a woman can do anything. I can go to a concert by myself, travel the world on my own, choose any career that I want, follow my dreams. Now that I have a daughter of my own I am thoughtful about how I talk to her. I want her to grow up believing she can do anything! If she wants to play footy now…she can! I couldn’t do that when I was a kid. I love seeing the barriers between men and women changing. I love that girls have opportunities that weren’t there 20 years ago. And I wonder what opportunities her daughter will have (well, that is if she decides to have children)! All of the beads in this necklace are made from various recycled glass sources!
Day 62 – Sunday sets
I like the little speckly green wine bottle beads mixed in with the beads made from a champagne bottle. You could wear this bracelet with the champagne bottle earrings or with earrings made with speckly green wine bottle beads (see last Sunday, day 55).
Day 61 – Behind the scenes Saturday
Yes, my jewellery making space is always a mess! I kind of like having beads and other bits and pieces all over the desk, it can sometimes be the starting point for a new piece! The pliers are years old and very well used.
Day 60 – Brandy bottle stud earrings
I have been working with recycled glass for around 10 years now and I have to admit that I am never bored with it. I love experimenting and trying out new glass and techniques. I am given many different types of glass and bottles and this year I am making time to try new things. I like how these studs turned out, made from a brandy bottle!
Day 59 – Recycled glass bracelet made from a wine bottle
The beads in this bracelet were made from a Banrock Station wine bottle and decorated with smashed up glass (frit).
Day 58 – Asymmetrical recycled glass necklace
If you are looking for a traditional symmetrical necklace, then this necklace is not for you! However, if you are looking for a necklace that is a little bit different and incorporates an assortment of recycled glass beads, then maybe, just possibly this one is for you! Either way, I am quite enchanted with this one and can’t wait to make more in various other colours.
Day 57 – Recycled glass earrings
I may be slightly obsessed about the ocean at the moment! It’s kind of hot where I live right now. We will definitely be going to the pool this afternoon. The beads in these earrings were made from wine bottles.
Day 56 – Inspired by Monday
It’s a student free day at my children’s school so we have escaped to the beach! Today’s earrings, made from a Banrock Station wine bottle, suit the day perfectly.
Day 55 – Sunday sets with a few earrings options
It’s nice to have a few options when it comes to choosing earrings. Th beads have all been made from a wine bottle. Loving the green today. So fresh and crisp. Sending a big happy birthday to my beautiful daughter Ciara. 10 years old today! It has been quite an amazing decade with you in my life.
