These pretty studs made from Green Depression glass were a bit tricky to photograph thanks to the super sparkly pixie dust that I used to decorate them.

Wine, gin and vodka bottles all feature in this beautiful blue recycled glass bracelet.
It’s funny how one idea can spark more ideas. I started the heart challenge thinking I would just try making a heart bead like this one.
But as soon as I made that bead, I thought, well, what if I ran the holes vertically, rather than horizontally? That sparked this bead.
Then I thought, maybe I could add some colour by melting some frit into the bead. That idea made this bead.
It took a little while, but I did get back on the torch to make this bead, featuring frit, and a horizontal hole, it looks so sweet!
I was out with my family today and I couldn’t stop thinking about making a really long pair of earrings. I love the swing of long earrings, and with the sunshine today I thought a bright green pair of earrings would hit the spot.
Beads made from a wine bottle.
I’m slightly obsessed with the idea of changing one thing in a design to create a completely new thing! It kind of started with these bracelets (bracelet 1, bracelet 2, bracelet 3, bracelet 4).
And today I have done it again with two pairs of earrings. I have used the same beads, and the same hand-formed/textured rings, but by changing the position of the beads I have created two very different pairs of earrings.
I’m definitely going to be trying more ideas like this, it’s so much fun, and the results are super cool.
I have been thinking about making pendants for SUCH a long time. I have tried a few different ways to make them. See here. And here. And here.
And while I like all of those, I was really wanting to try something a bit different. So, when I got a bunch of toggles clasps delivered last week, I wondered if I could use part of them to dangle things from.
And….this is what I have made! Beads were made from Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire Gin bottles. I have also added one of my enamelled copper tubes, and a little Swarovski crystal dangle too.
I have wanted to make a crochet necklace for at least 5 years! All sorts of things have stopped me.
There were probably more reasons than this, but these things definitely stopped me from “having a go”.
I realised in my yearly creative challenge that I had started making things that I like to make a lot – BRACELETS! It was time to make something that really stretched me out of my comfort zone. Without further ado, I present the crochet necklace that I made today, embellished with beads I made from Harlequin Glassware!
What did I learn from today?
Right, now I’m off to find something else that has been on my list of things to try that I have not yet tried!
I have mixed up beads from champagne, beer and wine bottles in this green bracelet. The recycled glass beads work well together, and I like how the drop beads sit on the wrist.
It’s sale table time at T’Arts!
Yay, it’s always so much fun to put work together for this event. It starts today, and will go for a couple of weeks. I have a big range of heavily discounted work. You’ll find all sorts of necklaces and earrings there.
