Day 11. Some cooler weather, inspired a cooler colour palette for these earrings AND a necklace. I love both of these earrings, they both work well with the necklace, and both would look great without the necklace. I didn’t intend to make two pairs of earrings for this necklace, but I am glad I had some leftover small beads so that I could give it a go.
Day 10. Another evacuation on Kangaroo Island yesterday, left me feeling a bit frazzled, so I can’t even imagine how my little brother is feeling, he had to actually do two evacuations yesterday! I spent most of the day just tidying my studio and this idea for a set of earrings kept running through my mind! Yes, 3 earrings! You can wear the mismatch pair on days when you are feeling a bit more whimsical, and play it straight on other days with the matching earring.
Day 9. I keep getting drawn back to these warm colours. I tried a few different options, but I love the matt ivory coloured bead in between the orange beads. Orange also looked great, but the ivory really popped for me!
Day 8. When you just feel like wearing all the colours! These earrings will definitely help. I had a lot of fun making this pair of earrings. The same-same but different look has a lot of appeal for me at the moment.
Day 7. Long, dangly, swingy flower earrings. Love the colours in the beads, three shades of green, they really catch the light too.
Day 6. One of the benefits of having made lots of beads over lots of years, is having beads laying around that might come in handy! I love the mis-matched look of these earrings!
Day 5. First of all, thanks for all the well wishes for my brother. He is safe and has returned home now. Recovery on the island will take a long time though. Now, can you guess where this purple glass is from? Keep scrolling to see where it is from, and the earrings I made today! So exciting, purple glass is so rare! And purple glass that melts like this feels like a unicorn! I can’t wait to make more things with this gorgeous glass. Cheers!
Day 4. It was quite surreal on the torch yesterday. Kept thinking that this flame that enables me to make beautiful beads, is also causing such widespread devastation in my country. My brother was evacuated from his home on Kangaroo Island yesterday, making the situation feel even more awful. So many people are impacted and yet there I was, on the torch, making beads. The earrings I made today are another response to these horrific fires. I hope everyone stays safe and things are contained soon.
Day 3. Up early today, struggled to watch the news, headed into my studio to make these earrings. I made the beads last year, they were leftover from a custom order and seemed to be a good fit for this day of more extreme heat.
Day 2. Long, rectangle Bombay Sapphire Gin recycled glass bead hoop earrings! And a sneak peak at my super tidy workspace. Not sure how long that will last!
