Day 258. Today was all about creating some new Gin and Tonic earrings. Swipe through to see the different variations. Made from Bombay Sapphire, Tanqueray and two different Hendricks gin bottles, the tonic bottle is Fever Tree.
Day 257. Gosh, it has been so nice to hang out in my studio today, especially after spending the day at hospital yesterday! I got extra creative today and made a necklace and bracelet to go with these super cute earrings.
Day 256. Well it looks like I will go to extreme measures to avoid my daily challenge! I am sorry that I didn’t get a chance to make anything yesterday. I ended up spending the entire day at the RAH with a friend who was unwell. Luckily he was well looked after, and he is having surgery today. I have today’s challenge earrings made, ready for the next post! But if I had the chance to make something yesterday, it might have looked something like this! These earrings are from the other day, but I took them apart and added some texture to the copper. Hammering them felt good today!
Day 255. Take an old idea and change one thing. I changed yesterday’s square hoops and made them rectangle hoops! The beads are made from wine and gin bottles. Hmm, what will I change tomorrow?
Day 254. Seriously, feeling less than inspired at the moment and trying to come up with some ideas that will help me with my “earring block”. I wrote down a bunch of suggestions today, and I am going to try one each day and see what happens. Today I have taken my “old” idea of square hoops, made them smaller, and added a drop to them that can be removed. Hmmm, that’s changing two things, but I like the end result. I love square hoops and glad to try something new with them.
Day 253. Trying new things. I have been feeling slightly blah about my daily challenge recently. I wouldn’t say I was bored, but I am probably a bit uninspired. I had some ideas leftover from SALA that I haven’t tried because….learning curve! It can be hard to try new things when there is so much to learn. It’s like, you can read about it, watch videos, but the actual doing it for yourself is hard work! So today I told myself I would take one small step towards my new idea. I didn’t have to get it “right” but I had to try something. So I found the copper disks that I purchased about 4 years ago, and I made a start. This is definitely not where it ends, but it was nice to make a start. I will take another small step tomorrow, and the next day, and we shall see where it goes.
Day 252. I made these earrings this morning and thought I would get a chance to post them online at some stage, but apparently my day had other plans and I am only just uploading this! I really like the shadows in this photo ☀️
Day 251. There comes a point in the day when you actually just have to either make a pair of earrings or miss a day! And after making 250 pairs of earrings I honestly did not feel like letting it slide today! Having said that, I really dislike what I have made, and I feel OK about that. I never had to love all of the earrings that I made, the challenge was to make a pair of earrings every day. Anyway, this was an old idea, but one I have never tried because…it just seemed a bit tricky. Today I tried, it was indeed tricky!
Day 250. All the beautiful gin bottle colours in one pair of earrings. Featuring beads made from Tanqueray, Hendricks, Bombay Sapphire and Hendricks Limited Release. I wonder if there will be any new gin bottle colours coming out this year? I will be keeping an eye on the bottle shops for sure!
