Growth

This range of jewellery was created with Bethany Wine bottles, and is inspired by the growth of the vines.  I have loved watching the grapevines change from bare sticks, to fully formed with leaves and grapes.

I have used a selection of wine bottles from the winery.  I love the lighter green in this range!  So pretty.  The earrings below are a new shape, and I am really loving how they look.

Seasons

One of the things I wanted to do in this exhibition was to represent some of the beautiful colours of the Barossa.  The grape vines change throughout the year, leaves change colour, grapes grow, it’s really quite a spectacular place.  At the moment the vines are all barren, and they are starting to grow again, ready for the next harvest.

These pieces are all on display at Bethany Wines, they are just out of Tanunda (which is a great town to visit too)!

Pepper Street Art Centre – SALA 2017

I’m so pleased to be part of the Pepper Street Art Centre SALA exhibition for this year.

The theme of the exhibition is “The Art of Craft” and I was inspired by the colour wheel to make this selection of jewellery.  I always love working with the colour wheel!  I love the big dotty necklace.  And I could see myself wearing the earrings (of course)!

Thanks to everyone at Pepper Street for their huge amount of work getting the exhibition up and running, well done.

re(wine)d

Hello!  I’m excited to share a quick photo of the exhibition that I have set up at Bethany Wines.  The exhibition is called “re(wine)d” and features jewellery that I have made from the glass bottles from the Bethany Winery!  The pieces are selling quite quickly, which is really lovely, so if you are planning to visit the exhibition as part of your SALA adventure this year, I’d probably go sooner, rather than later…

Greenery

When the window display theme for SALA at T’Arts was announced, I knew I had to be part of it!  “Greenery” is the theme for the window, and I have made all of the beads from recycled glass sources.  Embellishing some, leaving others undecorated.  I have made some really new work for the window, and hope you enjoy it while it is there for the month of August!

View from my studio

So, after a really lovely break by the beach with the family, it’s back to reality!  I have to get work ready for three SALA exhibitions!

  1. Bethany Wines.  I will be exhibiting a range of jewellery made from Bethany Wine bottles!  I have been loving working with these bottles, and look forward to showing you this new range of work.
  2. Pepper Street.  Their group exhibition is “The Art of Craft” and my work for this will be inspired by the colour wheel.  I spend a lot of time looking at my colour wheel!
  3. T’Arts.  The gallery will also be showcasing members work with the theme “greenery” and I have some lovely pieces almost ready to go!

Yes, lots of work to do now to get these exhibitions delivered.

Kirra Galleries – Flame On 2017

It was fantastic to be able to visit Melbourne while the Flame On exhibition was on at Kirra Galleries!  It was an added bonus to see 3 of my necklaces in the exhibition had sold.

Big thanks to Kirra Galleries for hosting such an amazing display of Australian glass artists.  It was lovely to see the work of other artists in real life!

I took this photo of my work on display.  After I took this photo the staff members mentioned that it was going to be changed around because of the necklaces that had been sold.

This is my work after it was changed, it was nice to see it all collated on one board!  And I love how they changed the way the earrings were displayed too.  Thanks again Kirra Galleries!
