So much work goes into putting an exhibition together. For me, making the beads is just one part of that process. Before the beads were made, I had to work on a concept, have my proposal approved by the Gallery Director, designed a bunch of necklaces and earrings that align with my theme. Then there is the making of the beads! Hundreds and hundreds of them. All made from recycled glass objects, all blue for this exhibition. Next, I will be making the jewellery, and also curating the exhibition, which means I have also think about your experience as a visitor, and how that ties back with the jewellery and the theme. To be honest, this has been one of the most amazing experiences of my artist life so far and I am so grateful to @murraybridgeregionalgallery for the opportunity to display this exhibition during SALA.
