Colour Play – September

Today I am making the jewellery for Colour Play for this month, and very soon I’ll have the pieces available for newsletter subscribers. Have you subscribed?  There will be 4 new necklaces and 4 new earrings.  I’m looking forward to seeing how they all turn out (because they look quite nice in my sketch book, but I’m really hoping that translates into beautiful jewellery)!

Kindy necklaces

I always love it when my kids make me things at kindy or school.  I have had quite a few pasta necklaces, and other little artworks that they have spent time making, and I treasure them all.

Last week Finn came home from kindy with this necklace for me. Oh man, I love it!  I love how he’s placed the beads, and the straws, and I love the colours he has used. I love that he spent time making this for me while he was at kindy!  There were loads of other things he could have been doing, but he spent time on this, and that meant the world to me.

I know these days don’t last forever, but I’ll take a few more of them!

New green earrings

I have been making all sorts of new earrings this year, and I have loved most of the earrings that I have made.  Yeah, you know, not all of them are for me.  But I have to say that this latest pair of earrings is definitely one of my favourites.  They are long, comfortable, light, and I am even sleeping in them with no problems.  Oh, and I am still wearing scarves with them too!

I made the glass beads from a Bethany wine bottle, and I really love this colour.  I would call this a fairly neutral green, as it seems to work with so many colours.

Yellow glass

It’s time to get some beads made for my latest Colour Play project, and this month I have decided to use yellow glass!  Some of you might know that yellow is pretty much my least favourite colour!  But after a bit of research and inspiration, I am actually getting a little bit excited about colour this month.  Testing beads today.

The perfect necklace for spring!

It’s no secret that I am not a fan of winter.  Sigh, unfortunately the cold weather is just not for me.  I’m a summer girl.  I like to feel warm.  I love the first day of Spring!  The longer days, the warmer days, the promise that the cold will be ending…soon.

I am really looking forward to my shift at T’Arts tomorrow.  I have a pink shirt that I have been itching to wear, and now I have these green necklaces from my SALA exhibition at Bethany wines to wear with it.  I am going all in for spring!

These necklaces were made to represent “growth”.  At the moment, the vines in the Barossa Valley are absolutely bare, but it won’t be long before they start shooting leaves here and there.
