Popping in to say a big thanks for being here in 2018. It was a great year for many reasons, but also a very challenging year for me too. I can honestly say I am looking forward to turning the calendar over on this year and starting 2019 with some new energy and focus. I have decided to continue my daily recycled glass jewellery project, however there will be a few tweaks to it to make it slightly different. I am looking forward to sharing my recycled glass jewellery with you all again. Happy New Year!
I started this year with an idea for a project that I hoped would work. I wanted to make a new piece of recycled glass jewellery every day, and post the photo to Instagram. Simple?
Well it was and it wasn’t simple. It was simple when I allowed myself the time to sit down and look at all of my beads and simply make things with what I had. It was simple when I had an idea for a series of pieces and I put together a little plan to make that series of pieces. It was simple when I let myself go, and simply created.
It wasn’t simple when life got in the way! Those days when every minute seemed to be filled with something or other and I thought I would have time to make something and then time got away from me and I didn’t make anything. Luckily there weren’t many of those days, but I felt them. I felt disappointed when I didn’t make something new.
Overall though I have had a really great year with this project. I have loved trying new things. New techniques with jewellery. New techniques with glass. New glass. New combinations of glass. It really has pushed me to make new and different things, and it has been lovely to see what has resonated for people too. I have had many requests to buy the pieces that I have made which I am truly grateful for. I have also had many messages from people with positive comments on my work. Also, very grateful for those comments. They helped to keep me going.
So what happens next year? To be honest, I’m still working on that! I have some ideas, and I’m going to take a little break now to work on those ideas and see where my creativity and my passion leads me in the new year.

I have made a couple of Bombay Sapphire Gin bottle bracelets this week. I really like how simple this bracelet is. It’s just a mix of etched and shiny beads. Really simple, but also very pretty.
All of the beads in this sweet little bracelet were made from a Bombay Sapphire Gin bottle. I have used a few different embellishments to get some variation in the colours, but kept it quite simple so that it can be worn as an everyday bracelet.
Square hoop earrings are always a lot of fun to wear, and this pair made from Bethany Wine bottles is extra special. They are decorated with silver and gold pixie dust, making them perfect for Christmas Day or New Years Eve!
I have to say, I have been a bit blown away by all the lovely orders that have been coming through this month! Thanks to everyone who has trusted me to make them a special Christmas present. I love seeing what you choose.
I did find some time this morning to make this pair of earrings. The beads are made from a Bethany wine bottle. Such a pretty colour.
These pretty studs made from Green Depression glass were a bit tricky to photograph thanks to the super sparkly pixie dust that I used to decorate them.
