Colour Play

I have a lot of fun making these leather necklaces.  I was curious to see which one people would be drawn to.  I took them to the Flinders Street Market on Sunday, and it was quite split between two of them.  Some people loved the all red look, and others preferred the red with the black leather.

On my walk this morning…

It was lovely to be back at Flinders Street Market yesterday!  It was quite a long day, and also quite hot, so I decided that a sleep in was in order.  I only managed the short walk this morning and got quite a different view!

So, this week I am getting some more work ready for Flinders Street Market on Saturday.  I’ll be there from 11-7.  If you have any special requests, please feel free to let me know!

Colour Play

Last week I started colour play!  I hope to make at  least 2 necklaces each week and have them here to show you on the blog.

This week I have 2 new necklaces made from assorted red flower disk beads.  I like how both necklaces have exactly the same beads, but with completely different results!  (Note: the necklace on the silver chain has sold, but I am making a series of these necklaces in assorted colours if you are interested).

Here are some images, feel free to click on them and you will be directed to my online shop:

Exciting week ahead!

  1. I get to work in T’Arts on Saturday!  I love doing my shift there.
  2. I am back at the Flinders Street market on Sunday!  I have a new display ready to go, and I have some new jewellery ready too.  Hope to see you there!
  3. And, I get to finish 2 uni subjects this week.  My final 2 assignments are due on Friday, and that will put me 2 units closer to finishing (I still have a long way to go, but it’s been awesome studying again)!

Colour Play

Oh, exciting, it’s time (finally) for Colour Play!

So, I was saying yesterday that I’ve been doing a lot of production lately, and have not really made anything “new” for a while.  I decided to do something about it, and so every week I’ll be featuring a new necklace (or two).   Well, some of them might not be entirely new, but they might have sparked some new work.  We’ll find out as we go!

This month I decided to play with red beads.  I make a lot of necklaces with red as the feature, but with other colours too, such as black and white or orange.  This month I wanted to stick, strictly, with just red beads.

This first week I am featuring necklaces that have 9 red teardrop beads.  Both versions are pretty cool, and I’m struggling to work out which one is my favourite.  I think it would depend on what I was wearing it with to be honest.

Without further ado…here are the 2 new necklaces I am sharing with you this week.  Both necklaces (along with several others) are available in my shop.  You can simply click on the photo to go to my shop.  Enjoy!

Getting ready for Colour Play…

I’ve been spending a lot of time doing production work lately, and I have been feeling like playing with colour again.  I’m starting a new “thing” on my blog, called Colour Play!  Each week I’ll feature a couple of necklaces in a colour that I am playing with.  The pieces will be one-off pieces, available for sale on my website at a discounted rate.  I am curious to see what people like too.  This will be a Wednesday feature, so come back again tomorrow to see what I feature first.

On my walk this morning…

Last week didn’t quite go according to plan, but I am getting into the swing of school runs and school pickups again.  Along with playgroups and play-dates!  This is my last year at home with one of my kids full-time, as Finn starts kindy next year, so I kind of want to enjoy it with him.

On Wednesday I will have some new work to share with you.  And on Thursday I will be sending out my newsletter!  I’m enjoying the challenge of making new things again.  December was full-on production, January was a bit of a rest, and now it’s time to create new work again.

On my walk this morning…

The holiday is over!  Sigh.  I really enjoyed the school holidays this time.  I was pleased that I got to work on my business, and spend time with the family, and relax.  The days were long and filled with all sorts of things.

Now it’s time to get back into a routine.  Whatever that means!  I’m definitely going to try to walk more, eat less and start some yoga practice again.

February looks set to be a fun month:

  • I will have 3 necklaces and earrings featured in a Fringe exhibition at Prospect Gallery.  This opens on Sunday 7th February at 3.00pm.
  • I will have a newsletter out next week with my new colour of the month series of work!
  • I will be at the special Fringe edition of the Flinders Street Market on February 21 and 27.  Can’t wait to get back there.  I will have some new work available.  And some old work discounted.
