All the pretty blues in this recycled glass necklace. Beads made from assorted recycled glass objects including vodka, wine and gin bottles. Love this mix, and love the heart shaped beads too!

Time to play…
Today I had a bit of extra time to sit with my beads and try to work on something “new”. I wasn’t sure what it was going to be. A new pair of earrings? A new bracelet? Maybe a new necklace?
I had some brown and some blue beads already sitting on my desk, so I started putting them together. Then I found some more blue beads, and added some more brown beads, and what started out as a couple of beads sitting next to each other that I kind of liked the look of, soon turned into a really pretty necklace.
I really like how beautifully all of these different colours and shapes work together.
There are beads from all sorts of recycled glass objects here: Banrock Station Wine bottle, Hendricks Gin bottle, Bombay Sapphire Gin bottle, Skyy Vodka bottle, Coopers Ale bottle!
Blue recycled glass beads
I love how many different shades of blue I get to use – vodka bottles, gin bottles, wine bottles and blue depression glass. They all work so nicely together.
Blue recycled glass necklace on silk cord
I’ve been making lots of bracelets lately: bracelet1, bracelet2, bracelet3.
I had almost forgotten that I also like to make these necklaces! I love how colourful this necklace is, and it’s on silk cord too, so it’s perfect for a casual trip to the shops or a quick coffee with a friend.
[P.S. Sorry about the not so amazing photograph of this necklace, it was getting a little bit dark by the time I took the photo].
Blue enamel jewellery
So I mentioned in this post how much I enjoyed the process of enamelling last year. I also mentioned I was looking forward to making more enamelled pieces this year.
Well, guess what? I made some pieces today! I had some blue enamels here, and I used them to add some stunning colours to some copper tubes. Such pretty colours…and they work beautifully with the beads that I have made from vodka, gin and wine bottles.
Hmm…think I might have to check out the other enamel colours…
