Getting ready for the markets….

For the last couple of weeks I have had two tables in my studio laid out with all of the props and jewellery and beads that I am going to use for my market stall.  It has been great fun trying new ways of displaying everything.

I have also spent a lot of time going through all of my jewellery and working out what is “ready” for the sale table, and what might be going out to galleries before Christmas.  Er, I have to confess, I have decided that a lot of jewellery will be on my sale table.

First market of the season will be the Mount Gambier Library Markets on Sunday November 9.  They officially run from 11am until 2pm.  I will be near the coffee makers (hooray)!  Hope to see you there.

Bottle Brush

Red Bottle Brush…so pretty!

Where I grew up, this is the only colour bottle brush that was around.  It was honestly the only colour bottle brush that I thought existed!  Until I went out for a walk the other morning and I came across this bush:

Beautiful flower pendants with handmade glass beads by Julie Frahm

I am thrilled with how the jewellery has turned out for the Little Treasures exhibition. The bracelet is just lovely to wear, and I think the colours work really well.  The pendants are a new style, a bit more embellished, but still very delicate and pretty.

This work will be in the Little Treasures exhibition, but I could be persuaded to make some more before Christmas!   In fact I think I might make a special selection for my shop!  Stay tuned.

Little Treasures at Pepper Street

Remember all of those flower beads from the other day?  Well, they have now been turned into jewellery for the 2014 Little Treasures exhibition which will be held at Pepper Street Gallery from Sunday November 23.

Everything in the exhibition must be priced at less than $150, and it’s a cash and carry exhibition, meaning that you can take the work home straight away!

Second Prize

Awesome glass bead necklace by Julie Frahm

And, I got 2nd prize for this necklace in the Mount Gambier Show – A piece of Jewellery in Beading section!

I really enjoyed taking part in the local show, and even though I did not win 1st prize, it was just great to be part of it all.  To make some new necklaces.  And it was exciting taking the kids to the show and seeing if mummy had won anything.
