Square hoops with flower beads

recycled glass bead earrings

I thought I would try some flower beads in the square hoops this morning. I had thought I was just going to use one bead, but when I saw that I had two slightly different coloured beads ready to go…I went for it.  I love how these catch the light.

Playing with gin and tonic bead bracelets

recycled glass bracelet

I’ve been having a lot of fun with these bracelets. Changing one thing to get a completely different bracelet. I had thought while I was making yesterday’s bracelet that I might like to change one more thing, because I was curious, so I switched out the Hendricks disk beads for Fever-Tree disk beads, and switched it up completely.

Change one thing

I have always been fascinated with the complexity and simplicity of design! After I have made a piece I often spend a little bit of time thinking about “what if I changed this bit here?”

So today I decided to take inspiration from that idea, and change one thing from yesterday’s bracelet. Here is today’s version:

Yesterday I used clear Fever-Tree tonic water bottle beads in between the Hendricks Gin bottle disk beads. Today I opted to use all Hendricks bottle beads…hmm, that’s got me thinking about tomorrow!

Gin and Tonic bracelet

recycled glass bracelet

I made this bracelet yesterday as part of my year long recycled glass jewellery challenge, but by the time I finished it, it was too dark to photograph it! So here is yesterday’s bracelet, and I’ll be back a bit later with today’s piece.

This bracelet was made with beads from a Hendricks Gin and Fever-Tree tonic bottle! Love all the reflections in this piece.

These colours were calling me back today…

recycled glass bracelet

Whenever I get work ready for a window display or an exhibition, I always make more beads than I can use. There are always leftover beads in various containers.

Today I went through some of them and found I had enough beads to make a bracelet. Featured in this bracelet are beads from pink depression glass, green depression glass, some purple glasses, and a wine bottle.

It’s such a beautiful day here, and this bracelet seemed to match the day in a way!

Gin earrings

recycled glass earrings

Yesterday I made a lovely pair of long earrings that were very dangly and very swingy.  They were made from a Hendricks Gin bottle and a Fever-Tree tonic bottle, and featured some enamelled copper tube beads that I had also made. I test wore them yesterday, and really loved them. But I thought to myself….they might not be for everyone.

So today I have made a more streamlined, refined pair of earrings. Featuring the enamelled copper tubes, and a small Hendricks Gin bottle bead, they are super elegant.
