I think I posted about this recently with a different bracelet. But I do like having beads leftover after making earrings, because they make such pretty bracelets! I love the shape of these beads, and all of the colours just work together beautifully. These beads were made from a Banrock Station wine bottle.

100 earrings
Today I set up my window display at T’Arts (in Gays Arcade, off Adelaide Arcade). I made 100 pairs of earrings! They are a mix of Italian and recycled glass beads. If you’re in Adelaide I hope you’ll pop in and see the display. A big thanks to my husband for helping me make the displays.
Gin and Tonic earrings
I’m in the middle of getting lots and lots of earrings ready for my window display at T’Arts, which I’ll be setting up after I finish my shift there tomorrow.
These earrings, made from gin and tonic bottles, are 3 of the pairs that will be available. I’m hoping to get 100 pairs made! Still lots of work to do…
7 day challenge – Day 7
It’s day 7 of the challenge to use the purple recycled wine bottle beads. Today I’ve done something a bit different. I like the way these necklaces hang, they are going to be perfect for the warmer days ahead!
That’s the end of that mini challenge! I wasn’t sure at first if I could come up with 7 days of different ideas, but that’s kind of the reason why I like these little challenges….because they push you to come up with different ideas. It doesn’t mean they all work as ideas, but it is nice to try them and see what happens.
7 day challenge – Day 6
I thought I would try something a bit different with the beads today. I popped them at the bottom of the necklace, and added some lovely green recycled glass beads around them. I love how the purple beads sit at the bottom of a necklace, just makes it a little bit more interesting. I would probably add more beads to this necklace at some stage. I think it needs a bit more purple mixed in and around the green beads.
7 day challenge – Day 5
Another variation for the purple recycled glass beads…this time with some Coopers Ale beer bottle beads mixed in between. I always love how purple and brown mix together.
7 day challenge – Day 4
Today I added some sparkly tonic water beads in between the recycled purple wine bottle beads, for a completely different look.
7 day challenge – day 3
Today I had some green wine bottle beads in my collection, so I thought I would see how the purple wine bottle beads looked with them in between….I quite liked how this turned out!
7 day challenge – Day 2
Day 2 of the challenge I set for myself to use the purple beads made from a wine bottle differently for 7 days. I have to use at least one of the purple beads, but I can change anything else about the piece of jewellery. Oh, this is going to be fun!
I thought I would start with a simple change. I took the silver spacer beads out and replaced them with bright green beads! I don’t use seed beads like this very often, so I really liked the look of this change, and how it changed the necklace.
7 day challenge – Day 1
This morning I came across these beads in my collection. I remember making them a long time ago (they are made from a wine bottle), and I had tried to make something with them at some stage, but it hadn’t worked out, so they were in a bag, just waiting to be found!
I kind of felt a bit sorry for them, because they are quite pretty beads. So I set myself a challenge to make something with them for the next 7 days. Making things a bit different each day, but using them every day for the next 7 days!! I have no idea if I can do this. I came up with about 3 ideas really quickly…not sure what will happen after that.
