Niobium earrings

recycled glass earrings

Someone asked me recently if I could make earrings from niobium. I did a little search of the jewellery suppliers where I get some of my findings and managed to find several different colours. This is the first pair that I have made. I like the contrast in the ear-wires, and the way it works with the beads that were made from a Hendricks Gin bottle. Really adds to the design.

Earrings to match

recycled glass earrings

I don’t normally feel compelled to make earrings to match a necklace, but as I was putting yesterday’s necklace together, I had these beads on my table, so this morning I thought…let’s see! Definitely not colours that I normally put together but I find myself really liking them.

Inspired by the changing season

recycled glass necklace

Well it’s definitely winter here! I have been doing a lot of driving lately and it has been quite lovely to watch the paddocks turn from brown to green. This necklace is inspired by the changing season. Using beads made from beer, wine and champagne bottles, I think it captures the change from brown paddocks through to lush green fields quite nicely.

Ice cold

It’s so cold here at the moment. We were driving around yesterday and the temperature was something like 7 degrees. This was during the DAY! Really!

Anyway, I have been feeling a bit icy, so I made a pair of earrings to reflect that feeling. I love clear earrings, they tend to pick up and reflect different colours which makes them really interesting.
