The previous leaf bracelet might be a bit much for some people, so I thought I would change some of the beads around to make a slightly daintier version of the blue recycled glass leaf bracelet. Still super pretty on the wrist, the leaves dangle beautifully.

I was scrolling through my instagram photos this morning, wondering what I should make today. Trying to make something a bit different from what I have made, because that’s kind of the point of this year! To make all sorts of jewellery from recycled glass objects.
I realised that it had been quite a while since I had made a blue bracelet. I have made some blue necklaces, some blue/green bracelets, some blue/brown bracelets…but not a mixed blue bracelet for quite a while.
So without further ado…
I think I might have made this bracelet 5 different ways this afternoon! I had all sorts of beads out over my desk, and nothing was quite working for the longest time.
So I stopped for lunch, played with the kids (it’s a public holiday here), and then went back to it after a while. I wish I could say “and voila” but I did end up with this bracelet (and I think it’s rather pretty)!
Beads were made from various wine and gin bottles with assorted embellishments.
This bracelet took me hours to make!
I started making it yesterday, but it wasn’t working out so well. I couldn’t get it right with the beads that I had made. It needed a good night’s sleep, and a rethink on how to use the beads, and this is what I finally made. I really like how the beads made from a Blue Depression glass plate (the ones that are etched), contrast so nicely with the sparkly beads made from vodka, gin and wine bottles. When I was going through all of my old seed beads I found such a lovely collection of blues that I had to then find some beads to mix in with them! I love how the beads made from wine bottles, vodka bottles, and gin bottles all work so nicely together!
It started out simple enough. Make a bracelet using four different types of blue beads. But as I started to make the bracelet, it made me think about other ways to make the bracelet, and that led to other ways to make the bracelet. So in the end I made all four versions of the bracelet that I had imagined as I was making the bracelets! Which one do you like best?
