All about red #3

red jewellery

Last week it was all about the seed beads. Oh, and the beautiful red glass beads in between all of those lovely seed beads!

This week, it’s all about the drip beads!

The third necklace features another favourite bead of mine – the drip bead! I make this bead by using the beauty of gravity! Again, this necklace looks really great on, it’s simple, but stunning (thanks to the colour)! I have made this one approx 54cm long, but that can easily be changed if you prefer.

These earrings are quite stunning! They feature two red drip beads, and they are a great length too – approx 5cm long. A really comfortable style to wear. I have kept one of the prototype earrings for myself (in a different colour)!

Green recycled glass bracelet

Green recycled glass bracelet

I love how the light sparkles through this bracelet! I have made the beads from a mixture of wine and beer bottles. I have decorated the beads with smashed up glass, giving it a real mix of colours. The clear beads in between definitely add to the sparkle.

I like that this bracelet is perfect for everyday wear, and could also be worn for special occasions. I’m looking forward to making more bracelets like this. And in case you are wondering, they are surprisingly comfortable to wear!

Cheers! Here’s to recycling…

Recycled glass necklace

I am given lots of old bottles from all sorts of people, and I really love that people are using me like a recycling bin. Sometimes it takes me a while to make something from the glass, but I’ve definitely had a lot of fun with this wine bottle this week. Who knew that a clear wine bottle could be made into so many different pieces of jewellery? Remember this necklace? And this bracelet? Here’s another necklace to add to the collection:

Champagne bottle beads

recycled glass earrings

I have made this pair of earrings with beads made from a Champagne bottle! I love the richness of this colour, and they do look a little bit more sparkly when they are held up to the light, rather than placed on wood to photograph!

Anyway, I have been wearing the gold pixie dust pair that I made earlier this year. I love them so much, they are my current favourite earrings to wear.  I even had a random stranger comment on them the other day “ooh, they are wonderful earrings you are wearing.”  Kind of made my day really…

Blue enamel jewellery

recycled glass necklace

So I mentioned in this post how much I enjoyed the process of enamelling last year. I also mentioned I was looking forward to making more enamelled pieces this year.

Well, guess what? I made some pieces today! I had some blue enamels here, and I used them to add some stunning colours to some copper tubes. Such pretty colours…and they work beautifully with the beads that I have made from vodka, gin and wine bottles.

Hmm…think I might have to check out the other enamel colours…

All about red #2

red glass jewellery

It was lovely to show you the flower jewellery from last week, with beads that I have made before, just used a bit differently.

Well, if we are doing things a little different, then this week it’s really different! Over the many years that I have been making jewellery I have amassed quite a collection of seed beads. I love seed beads, I just don’t really use them any more! But this month I decided to get them out, and make something with them. This is the end result.

The second necklace features all sorts of red glass beads, with all sorts of red seed beads in between! This lariat style necklace is quite versatile, I have found 2 ways to wear it that I like. The rope is 102cm long.

These earrings are dangly and swingy and lots of fun to wear! They are quite long, sitting at about 6.5cm from top to bottom, so if you like your earrings long, these are the ones for you!
