I had some almost matching enamelled copper tubes on my workbench, so I thought…let’s make a pair of earrings! Long and all shades of blue.

I was so pleased to wake up today knowing that it was a long weekend and I didn’t have to be anywhere else but at home. We all woke up a little later than normal, and I have had a chance to play with some more design ideas with the enamelled copper tubes and various recycled glass beads. I really like how this one sits.
I have made some new earrings for Colour Play this month.
Some of them are still available online. Click here for more details.
This week I am sharing some pink and purple earrings. Love the etched finish on these beads. Makes them so soft and pretty.
It’s the Sunday of a long weekend where I live, and it has been so nice to have a sleep in and a little bit of a relaxing time. It makes a nice change from the past few weeks where it has been a little bit hectic in my world.
Today, to celebrate this chilled out day, I made a necklace to go with those lazy Sunday afternoon vibes. Here it is:
Happy World Gin Day to you! I am having quite the love affair with gin bottles at the moment. The beads in this bracelet were made from Hendricks, Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire Gin bottles. Cheers gin lovers…
It starts with an idea…what if…then a prototype…maybe like this…then a few more tries…different beads…maybe this way…the joys of the design process…
I love how many different shades of blue I get to use – vodka bottles, gin bottles, wine bottles and blue depression glass. They all work so nicely together.
I used mostly gin and tonic bottle beads for this bracelet, and threw a few other recycled glass beads in for good luck!
On days like today, when there are a million things to do, it would be easy to say “I don’t have time to make a piece of jewellery.” Trust me, I thought about it. But sometimes that’s the reason to drag my butt over to the desk where I make jewellery, sit myself down, and start looking through all of the beads I have made. Today, I was drawn to the blue beads, and I wondered what I could make that didn’t take too much time, but was still nice, and used my beads in different ways. Today I started picking through the cobalt blue Skyy Vodka bottle beads, wondering if I needed to add any other colours, when I realised I might have enough for a bracelet. I love how this one came together. Both the actual bracelet, and the massive push to sit down and make something. It reminds me of why I am doing this daily making project. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it!
New earrings! Red and black handmade glass beads. Sterling silver rings (hand-formed and textured).
